• LGBTQ Nation: D.C. police are hunting for the murderer of 28-year-old Black transgender woman Dream Johnson. Bystanders contacted police around 12:30 a.m. last Saturday after finding Johnson shot several times and lying on the street.

• Axios: A federal judge on Thursday blocked Donald Trump’s executive order attacking birthright citizenship, nearly two weeks after the Supreme Court limited lower courts’ power to freeze federal policies.
• Wired: The Department of Homeland Security is urging local police to consider a wide range of protest activity as “violent tactics” – including mundane acts like riding a bike or livestreaming a police encounter.
• X: Disgraced former Rep. George Santos (R-NY), who must report to prison by July 25, told his social media followers that if anything happens to him there, he “did NOT kill” himself. #GoAwayAlready
