Some news items you might have missed: • CBS Sports: Former out pro football player Carl Nassib (the first active player in the NFL to come out) shared a touching story at GLAAD’s ‘Night of Pride’ in Las Vegas last week of a gay football fan who shared their coming out story. https://www.instagram.com/p/C3JHhDkp6ZR/ • The Advocate: New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers and podcast host Joe Rogan spouted lies and half-truths about transgender youth on a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, claiming that doctors and “woke” liberals are talking kids into transitioning just to make money. • Queerty: Rapper Bad Bunny’s recent photoshoots for Interview Magazine and French fashion house Jacquemus have his fans thirsty. https://www.instagram.com/p/C3SlAouuDu6/ • JoeMyGod: A controversial bill dubbed Georgia’s version of “Don’t Say Gay” passed out of a state Senate committee on a 6-3 party line vote during a meeting in which proponents were given 15 minutes to speak but opponents (dozens in attendance) did not receive time to talk. • What To Watch: The acclaimed short film Strange Way of Life, by director Pedro Almodóvar, is now available on digital and DVD. $2.99 to stream on Amazon Video. Pedro Pascal and Ethan Hawke star in the gay cowboy flick as former lovers who reunite 25 years after their shared stint as hired gunmen. However, the next morning, it is revealed the reunion is not to revel in the memory of their friendship.
