• ABC News: A 23-year-old Michigan man has been arrested for calling in a fake bomb threat after missing his flight and having to book another.
• HuffPost: During a House Defense Appropriations subcommittee hearing today, the Defense Department’s acting comptroller, Bryn Woollacott MacDonnell, said sending the National Guard into Los Angeles will cost taxpayers in the neighborhood of $134 million.
It’s going to cost $134 MILLION for National Guard troops to be here in LA for the next 60 days. • CBS News: A bipartisan bill has been filed in the US Senate to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 per hour. The federal minimum wage is currently $7.25, and hasn’t been raised since 2009.
• New York Times: A new report by the World Bank projects the global economy to slow sharply this year amid Donald Trump’s off-on trade policy increasing economic uncertainty.
• The Democrats: “The Daily Blueprint” is the Democratic Party’s new, official morning news show on YouTube.
