Cincinnati.com reports that three days after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Dr. Caitlin Bernard, an obstetrician-gynecologist in Indianapolis, received a call from a colleague in Ohio. The physician in the Buckeye state had a 10-year-old patient who was six weeks and three days pregnant.

The Ohio-based physician, a child abuse doctor, asked if Bernard could treat the young child. Ohio had banned abortions after six weeks immediately after the SCOTUS ruling and the child was in a terrible predicament.
According to Cincinnati.com, Bernard agreed to treat the child because the laws in Indiana had not yet changed.
But…
Indiana lawmakers are poised to further restrict or ban abortion in mere weeks. The Indiana General Assembly will convene in a special session July 25 when it will discuss restrictions to abortion policy.
